WWI the christmas truce in the western trenches, to what point was it widespread and peaceful? Were there any attacks while both sides were supposedly in truce?

are there any resources that talk more deeply about December 25 1914

Here is a good explanation of the Christmas Truce by /u/Georgy_K_Zhukov: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/2qbd2z/can_one_of_you_wonderful_experts_please_make_us/cn4nv64/)

I also recommend checking out this book by Terri Crocker.

The Christmas Truce has been heavily mythologized. It was a short, fleeting, and quite localized event that has grown in the public consciousness into something that bears little resemblance to the actual event. Contemporary records from the British Army make only passing reference to the sporadic truces.
