I'm looking for stuff that's more focused on presenting the facts of what happened over having a spin like Oliver Stone's stuff. I basically want to watch things that historians would generally agree is factually accurate.
I would recommend any of the Ken Burns specials. The West, The War, and The Roosevelts are all on Netflix, plus a few more. Vietnam was on PBS’s free app.
Is the Stone documentary considered sensational?
Soaked in Bleach was a good factual documentary about Kurt Cobain's death. It doesn't paint Courtney Love in a good light. It was a fresh view on the subject compared to the other docu's about his death.
I would recommend the Voyager Probes documentary. Amazing bit of recent history.
