The Camp David Accords stabilized the situation between Israel and Egypt, with the biggest impact being the insurance that no one could attempt to shut down the Suez canal again. It also move Egypt from being the major power player in the region to Saddam Hussein of Iraq, thus completely changing the politics of the region that would have consequences right up to 9/11 and beyond.
