This is the prompt: "Explain why the United States, the first nation created through a rebellion against colonialism and founded upon the principle of self-determination, became an imperialist power at the start of the 20th century." We have to write an introduction with thesis and multiple body paragraphs (no conclusion). I have many messy ideas of what to write about, such as how industrialization and the 'bounciness' of early US foreign affairs affected this, but have no idea of how to organize these into an essay. Grateful for any help!
