Tomatoes seem to be such an integral part of so many well known Italian dishes and with tomatoes being a new world fruit got me to wondering what the cuisine was like before their introduction. Was there a major difference across the board recipe wise or were tomatoes just kinda added into time honored recipes?
This has been asked a few times before, so check out the posts that /u/Mictlantecuhtli linked in this thread. I'd link them properly but I'm on mobile.
Hope that helps!
Thanks!
