I’ve always wondered where accents came from. Growing up in the northeast, so many different areas have such distinctive accents. And then going down south, all the different accents down there really get me wondering if it’s just the way regions evolved phonetically or if it just has to do with where immigrants flocked to and how their kin picked up language.
