I'm currently watching Band of Brothers and just got to the part in the second episode where they meet the German soldier that is from Oregon. So my question is this, how many Americans died fighting for Germany or other axis countries?
This answer by /u/coinsinmyrocket to a similar question a few years ago may give you some interesting background in regards to what you are looking for, but one of the conclusions is that there isn't hard numbers on the number of American citizens (either by birth or naturalization) who fought for Nazi Germany. https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/21l5v8/how_many_us_citizens_of_german_descent_fought_for/cgeglvm/
