I'm trying to remember a book on the US Civil War that I read numerous times as a kid when I visited my grandfather.

The book has to have been published in the early 1990s, perhaps a bit earlier than that.

It was a very comprehensive book that discussed the whole war. My grandfather passed away in 1998, and I have no idea what happened to the book. I was wondering if anyone could point me in some direction. I know my description is kind of vague, but I kind of remember it resembling American Heritage History of World War II.
