Soviet treatment of Holocaust survivors

by TheKingsPeace

We all know that the red army was less than pristine in it's human rights record in it's advnace across Eastern Europe, and most especially Germany.

My question is how did the red army treat the holocaust survivors it liberated? If one stops to think about the USSR did the most to mitigate and resist the Holocaust of all the allied powers.

Most of the Holocuast occured in Eastern Europe, and many of the partisans the USSR supported were themselves Jewish.

Once the Soviets liberated Aushwitz,Majdanek, and Treblinka.. did they treat the inmates well?

Anecdotal evidence said they did. Primo Levi, a famous holocuast survivor and historian was actually sent to a Soviet filtration camp and he had mostly positive things to say about his Soviet liberators.

Let me know when you can
