I remember reading somewhere about a region Egyptians used to trade with, and had so many visitors that nobody thought of writing up where it was located as it was "common knowledge", but I can't find that post anymore. I think it was part of a larger post about lost knowledge like Roman concrete and Damascian steel. Maybe someone can help me with it.
