Answering a question as wide and far reaching as this one is unfortunately pretty hard, since cultures around both bathing and sex varied enormously from place to place. A good answer takes technique and can't be rushed. /r/AskHistorians threads almost always get their result in good course, so please sit back, be patient, and let us work.
