After watching The Pianist I was really shocked by the way the Nazis treated the Jews. I knew that they were really cruel back then but was it really that common for the german soldiers to randomly execute anybody they wanted at any time without some sort of repercussion? Like that scene where a Nazi executed a woman just for asking something.
