A post on r/todayilearned says that Judaism emphasizes that sex is to be performed regularly, and insists that it be pleasurable for both members. Why did Christianity deviate so strongly from this?

I'm trying to wrap around what you mean by 'deviate so strongly from this'. Every major Christian sect I'm aware of endorses frequent and good sex between married couples. There are some minor ones, like the Shakers, that don't. Is that what you're after? Or maybe you're interested in a specific theologian like Erasmus? Or differences and evolution of Jewish and Christian marriage historically? Or why Judaism doesn't have celibate clergy or monks?
