Also, does anyone know if there was a formal treaty ceasing hostilities between Vermont and Great Britain? In the treaty of Paris (1783), Great Britain relinquished their claim to this territory but did they ever recognize the Vermont Republic? Or was it the opinion of Great Britain that Vermont was simply apart of the American War for Independence and not independent. Thanks!
