I came across a video today (https://youtu.be/wtzg5uEpiOI) that said the Etruscans called their gods Aiser. That sounded remarkably similar to the popular Norse word for their gods 'Aesir'. That got me to wondering if these two groups of people are related in anyway, or if their languages are related. Or is this just a case of coincidence, of words coming from completely different roots just sounding similar? I'm posting in the Linguistic sub too, but I would appreciate getting any historical insights, if any, on this.
Just ran across that video, did you ever find out?
