In video games that take place in medieval settings you sometimes see female blacksmiths. Where there ever any countries that allowed women in this trade or is this just a fantasy?

There was a recent thread addressing this answered by /u/sunagainstgold: "Would a woman be allowed to become a blacksmith in Medieval Europe?" Women blacksmiths might be related to male blacksmiths and might be recognized by the same guilds as their male relatives even if they didn't necessarily enjoy the same privileges within those guilds. Due to the circumstances that result in women popping up in late medieval legal documentation (generally related to property rights) and the limiting parameters on inclusion in guild rolls we mostly know about women blacksmiths in the context of their legal rights as male blacksmiths' widows -- the right to use their husbands' identifying mark in their own work and to protect other blacksmiths from using it, for instance. Female blacksmiths sound generally less common than male blacksmiths, but in terms of female workers in guilds traditionally designated for men, they're a conspicuous example and their presence in pop culture depictions of the 14th/15th century (well, their presence relative to, say, women cordwainers) might be slightly self-reinforcing.
