This is a pretty big claim, and I can only find newspaper articles from the 80s that back it up. It just seems too... simple. How could everybody, including most academics, fall for this lie that Curtis says the Reagan Administration told?
Having been forced to sit through Curtis' dreadful, boring, long Bitter Lake, can you elaborate on what his claim is?
As far as I am aware there is not currently any doubt about Libya's responsibility for these attacks. The former Libyan justice minister admitted Gaddafi's personal responsibility. And there has been a good deal of effort to track down the specific intelligence operatives involved.
