Hopefully this doesn't violate the 20 year rule. Have seen whispers here and there about their equipment, and have come across some interesting videos and documents relating to their history:
2000 company outlook I believe this implies that the EG2001 was introduced c. 1982, with the 2001X being introduced c. 1986, with production ending in the year 2000?
It appears they went bankrupt in 2009 and were bought by MarTek. I suspect this was due to poor sales of the EG6000, which cost enormous amounts to design?
Some of these sources are relatively recent - is there a problem with this provided they pertain to old products?
Somebody who has done some work on the history of the IC chip foundry industry might happen to wander by if you post this again, but perhaps not soon...you might get a quicker ( though perhaps not well- sourced) answer if you try posting it over on r/electronics. There might have also been some journalists who covered it as a story- but it's outside my knowledge so I am not sure what journals are out there. Just doing a search of the IEEE Spectrum website didn't pull up anything.
