What do you mean by "side-by-side" articles? Do you mean a historiographical piece that talks about the different views scholars have argued for? Do you mean something like an "Issues in Medieval Studies: A Reader" book that offers excerpts from scholarly articles on contentious topics? (nb: I made up that title).
