How racially diverse was Britain during world war 2?

by imranqu

As in the civilians of Britain during 1939-1945, were there any british born Indians or Asians? If so, where in england would they have been located and how would they have been treated?

Any links/books/films/resources to learn more on the subject would be really appreciated, Cheers

Hi there! You're in luck, because Oxford University Press just published Mixing It: Diversity in World War Two Britain by Wendy Webster. Although I have yet to get a copy of it (released only 12 days ago), it looks very promising.
