I'm a 9th grade Ancient World History teaching preparing for a unit on biases in historical writing. I'd like to find primary accounts of the Mongols from a non-Mongol (Maybe from the Turks/Jin/Song or the Abbasid/Muslim/Arab) perspective to illustrate the biases in historical texts as a contrast to the Secret History of the Mongols. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Thank you.
Two excellent sources are the histories by Juvaini and Rashid al-Din. Both are freely available online in English translation:
Juvaini, The History Of The World Conqueror Vol I: https://archive.org/details/historyoftheworl011691mbp
Juvaini, The History Of The World Conqueror Vol II: https://archive.org/details/historyoftheworl011648mbp

For Chinese sources, you could try
For European sources, there are Carpini, Rubruck, and Marco Polo. An overview of the various sources is given by Muhammad Nabeel Musharraf and Zain ul Abideen Sodhar, "An overview of historical sources of Mongol history", The Scholar-Islamic Academic Research Journal 2(2), LTR 1-23 (2016): https://www.siarj.com/index.php/Siarj/article/view/45
