I'm not sure how historians can know what happened if John Smith's account is false. (And it doesn't sound like a reliable account, with the 30 women sexually accosting him)
- When John Smith arrived in Jamestown in 1607 Pocahontas was only 10 years old.
- Pocahontas didn't save John Smiths life because no one was trying to kill him. Actually, he may have made the whole thing up or misunderstand a religious ceremony welcoming him into the tribe.
- When the natives didn't have any more to give in a bad winter of 1608 Jamestown attacked them, which caused them to move farther from Jamestown.
- John Smith lit his pipe with gunpowder and it exploded on him and he needed to return to England to recover.
- After John Smith left another British settler kidnapped Pocahontas.
- When in captivity, Pocahontas converted to Christianity, learned English and married a man named John Rolf.
- Then John Rolf, Pocahontas and their newborn baby came to England to stir up publicity and investment for Jamestown.
- After the visit Pocahontas died from disease at 21.
- John Smith claimed that Pocahontas and 30 women in the tribe demanded sexual favors from him.
