I found this coin on the ground in a small village in the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca, Mexico. It was on the site of an old house that burned down, so I’m guessing someone found the coin nearby, brought it home, and then lost it in the fire. I was wondering if anyone could identify the crest on it or when the coin was minted. I‘m pretty sure it was made by the Spanish, but I haven’t been able to figure out anything else. https://imgur.com/a/Qed5y/
It is a coin of 2 reales, from the time of Philip II, but prior to the conquest of Portugal, so the date is 1556-1580.
Judging by the part of the coat of arms corresponding to Bourgogne and the badly minted coat of arms of Austria, I think it is a counterfeit coin minted in Mexico.
Compare to the counterfeit 2 reales shown here

It looks like a Spanish silver cob or colonial cob. Info about the coin. Image of a similar coin (if not the same, I'm not a coin expert so I can't say anything with 100% certainty) here.
