Historians salvaged Alexander Hamilton’s legacy two centuries after his death, and now he’s among our best known Founding Fathers. Is anyone in U.S. history going through a similar re-evaluation of their legacy?

Historian Nancy Istenberg wrote a biography of Aaron Burr titled Fallen Founder that was a semi-rebuttal to Chernow's Hamilton, and tried to re-evaluate Burr's reputation and legacy.

The book came out in 2007, and did not catch on like Hamilton's biography ultimately did. But Burr would probably be the ultimate (except maybe hypothetically James Wilkinson) in reversed reputations if reevaluating him ever caught on.
