Was Waffenfarbe abteilung wide or section wide?

by rural_fox

Hello everyone!

I created the following image to better help me understand the command structure of the Whermacht. All officers are marked Red on the left side, NCO green and enlisted grey.

Now I am unsure if the waffenfarbe was abteilung wide or just listed to what "section" they belong i assumed the latter.

So is my understanding correct? also to what section did the Kratmelder belong? my instinct says communication, but could also be motorcycle troops.

Thank you for reading.

A friend of mine is quite into WW history etc. he says to that:

Since I'ts a reconnaisance unit, they would all wear the Waffenfarbe Pink. The exception would be, if hte unit belongs to the 24th Pz. Division. Then it'd be golden yellow.
