I apologise for such a broad question, however, I would like to keep in broad so that there’s a better chance someone would look and answer my question.

I’ve recently started to read more around ancient history and medieval history. However, I do find it a little intimidating to go into a book shop and select books that may be above and beyond my level, or may require extensive knowledge of the field beforehand. Im quite open to a range of suggestions and I have no particular era, civilisation, or part of the world that I hold a preference for when it comes to reading. Im interested in reading about a range of different peoples without limiting myself to one single area.
