Comparison for War of the Roses books

by ibeezy12

Hi all, I have been doing some research and I was hoping to find some insight. I am a casual reader who loves history, and I was hoping to get an opinion. Which would you recommend: The Wars of the Roses by Dan Jones or the Wars of the Roses by Alison Weir? Both have been held in relatively high regard elsewhere on the internet, but I was hoping to find a definitive answer. Thanks in advance!

At the risk of complicating your search, I can point to the discussion "War of the Roses", which was a request for book recommendations at https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/84z5a9/war_of_the_roses/ . Recommendations by /u/Wagrid , /u/Rhodis , and /u/TheHuscarl -- but they recommended 8 entirely different books! But at least one does mention that book by Weir. Gillingham is mentioned too: I also found it to be a readable and interesting book.

This is intended as a starting point, not to discourage further discussion. Follow-on questions, info, or debate are welcome.
