My dad recently passed away and in the grand sort of his things have come across some old newspapers all from significant events in history. They include (but are not limited to) the night George VIth died, the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, the moon landing, Winston Churchill's death etc.
They are not in great condition and I think have been kept in a plastic bag, in a box in a garage for 50 years or more! What should I do with them? I don't know if it's something schools or museums would be interested in, but I feel like I can't just throw them away, not after all the effort he went to hoarding them.
Just keep them! Who knows when cool stuff like that will come in handy. I’m sure it’s interesting to rifle through all other secondary news in those papers.
As for worth, most likely sentimental. I don’t really think old newspapers are worth anything (unless they are OLD).
Keep them and save them, you’ll regret it if you don’t! I mean honestly, how much room does a stack of newspapers take up!
Hope you have a good day!
