Recently watched some YouTube videos on Shakespeare pronounced in the dialect of his time. How is it that historians/linguists are able to determine how language is pronounced five hundred years ago?

Just curious as to how this is able to be determined given that there should be nobody alive who pronounces the dialect that way anymore
