My mom is a tour guide in Ireland and while studying had a vague recollection that during the Irish plantations King Henry VIII held a campaign wherein he gave loyal English settlers £10 each to settle and build a house in Ireland. My mom wants to find out if this is true? Thanks to any replies! :)

Related question what would be the comparative modern purchasing power in USD of the £10 in Ireland during the rule of King Henry VIII? I figure purchasing power (man I hope I'm getting the term right) would be the best way to understand the value instead of direct inflation cause the money was specifically meant for people to spend on housing materials and the things needed to create a sustainable life there. I know there are a few different historical value calculators out there but they haven't in my experience agreed with each other in the past.
