The title says it all, pretty much. I'm looking for a book which would give me an in-depth look at the entirety of the Yugoslav Wars (from Slovenia to Kosovo), but are still digestible by the average reader.
Documentary/movie recommendations also welcome.
Thank you!
For a documentary recommendation I would strongly suggest The Death of Yugoslavia, which is a BBC production from 1995.
It includes interviews with many extremely prominent players of the war period, including Milosevic, Tudman, and Izetbegovic, and a whole raft of other important political and military figures, both from the region, and from the international community.
The whole thing is about five hours long, and it is pretty in depth. Its broadcast date means that it obviously does not cover the Kosovo War, or events in other parts of the former Yugoslavia in the late 90s/00s, but for the collapse of the Yugoslav state, the conflicts in Croatia and Bosnia, and the context leading up to the period, it is very good.
