America's Women: 400 Years of Dolls, Drudges, Helpmates, and Heroines by Gail Collins would be accessible for a 13 year old while staying interesting.
I just saw this book called Bad Girls Throughout History by Ann Shen! The book looks awesome! Bright colors, well drawn graphic of each women. Each page has a paragraph description of an influential women in history! I bet it would be great for a 13 year old!
