Did Hitler ever consider having a son to inherit his legacy? If he didn't, why wasn't he worried about it? Did he even consider at all the issue of his succession before his panicky last days?

Just wondering why it seems like the thought of having an heir didn't cross his mind. And I'm curious about his plans for succession before his last days; it seems hard to believe that what's in his last will was his plan all along.

Edit: turns out some form of this question has been asked dozens of times (that's what you get when you don't search around properly before posting). I think I've read all answers, so I'd like to stress two topics that don't seem to have been answered:

  1. The question of hereditary succession, in the form of an hypothetical Adolf Jr.;
  2. His concrete thoughts and plans. Despite the amount of questions, the answers are either speculative or contradictory (divided it seems between Goering as a designated successor, and it all being unclear) and don't seem to point to documental evidence.

Hi, this question has come up here several times, but while I don't recall anyone addressing the concept of hereditary leadership, here's a recentish answer by /u/DerProfessor that can get you started:
