I have found a small amount of info, such as details of his final mission in which he was shot down. Two of the carriers he was on. But that is really all I have found. Can I get my hands on more detailed records of his missions and career?
For those curious, he flew a Corsair in both wars, as far as I have been told he was an ace in WW2, and in his final mission he was run down while on a bombing mission by multiple MiG-15s.
I want to maintain some anonymity here, but I have probably said enough for some reddit detectives.
Since you want to maintain anonymity, I'm not even going to snoop around and try to find your relative's name. However, in addition to what u/hillsonghoods has already mentioned (and I strongly support his advice), I'd like to say that in view of what you've said there's a decent chance that your relative is mentioned in some books, maybe just in passing, maybe in more detail.
If you have access to a good library anywhere near you, you might want to browse some books dealing with the Pacific Theater of WW2 and with the Korean War; look at the indexes of names at the end of those books, obviously mainly for the person you're interested in, but also for other names you know for a fact can be associated with your relative (like those two carriers). There's no guarantee, but such a search might give you an interesting perspective on what was happening around him.
Do you know the names of the pilots who flew those MiG-15s? If so, look for those names as well.
/r/AskHistorians has a wiki page with details about how to find military records which you might find very helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/wiki/militaryrecords
