I didn’t realize Omaha Beach is 5 miles long. Where was the exact spot (sector) that Robert Capa took his iconic photographs of the landing?

Robert Capa came ashore with Company E of the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. Company E was originally supposed to land on the western part of the Easy Red sector, but strong sea currents forced the company’s landing craft east, and they landed scattered along the boundary between Easy Red and the Fox Green sector. This is roughly what Company E’s men would have seen on the run-in to the beach, albeit obscured by smoke from grass fires caused by the naval bombardment. Strong currents were a problem all along the invasion beaches on June 6; thunderstorms or otherwise foul weather is common in Normandy during the summer, and 1944 is noted as being a particularly wet and cold year.
