Is it possible that a 2nd century AD Chinese scholar know of historical figures and events from the Mediterranean like Alexander and the Punic Wars? Similarly, could a Roman of the same era know of Chinese figures like Qin Shuangdi and the Zhou dynasty?

More could be written. You might like to start with "To what extend did Han China and The Roman Empire communicate or interact." by /u/Tiako .

You might also like "What are some examples of Roman/Han cultural diffusion through the Silk Road?" by /u/octaviusromulus and Tiako.

Also "To what extent were the administrations of the early Roman Empire aware of civilizations occupying modern day China, Japan, and Korea?" by Tiako, /u/BarbarianKing , and leprechauns_scrotum.

These are the three that seem most applicable from the FAQ section "Rome and ancient China" (in the app, find it near the bottom of the page).

This is not to discourage discussion. Further questions, data, and debate are welcome.
