I have read The fall of Carthage by Adrian Goldsworthy and am interested in some additional reading (could be on any Punic war). Thanks.
Ghosts of Cannae is one very well-written book that covers both wars, as well as their consequences for each side.
I have a curious book on all three wars by Nigel Bagnall, The Punic Wars. Bagnall was a Field Marshal of the Royal Army, and although he doesn't seem to have had much formal education in classics (I see he went to Wellington College, but I can't find any other information about formal education), he taught military history at Oxford after he retired.
He's not much for source criticism, and in fact doesn't discuss his sources much at all. His main aim is to describe grand strategy for both sides, and to explain choices that seem weird to us in terms of strategy. But if you want a play-by-play of the action, without worrying about sources or other broader issues the sources present, it might be worth a read.
