Historians, I am looking for a list of all German Ambassadors to Mexico 1930-1950. Any ideas on where to look?

I have been searching and exhausted my resources.

This sort of list is the sort of thing that Wikipedia does well, but it's not in Wikipedia because it's not in English. Right?

This is the exciting thing: Wikipedia in other languages is far from just a translation. Something that may be of extremely little interest to an English-speaker, like biographies of German ambassadors to Mexico, is definitely worthy of inclusion in the German-language edition of Wikipedia.

I found this by using a couple of simple clues. I figured a list of German ambassadors to Mexico existed, so I Googled the name of the current ambassador, easy to find in English sources, and the ambassador during the Zimmerman Telegram affair, which was also easy to find in English sources. Thanks to Google Translate, I didn't even have to dust off my 20-year-old German language skills.

And, of course, since Wikipedia is never ever your final resting point in research, you can go to the source that page recommends - Handbuch der Diplomatie 1815–1963, auswärtige Missionschefs in Deutschland und deutsche Missionschefs im Ausland von Metternich bis Adenauer, by Tobias C Bringmann.

So, a simple hint to all aspiring researchers: DO NOT limit yourself to English-language sources, especially when you're dealing with two countries that don't speak English.
