Male genitalia is generally recognized throughout many civilizations throughout time as a symbol of power, strength, luck, etc. How come the phallus is so understated/small in Greco-Roman-style statues?

More could be written, but I think the FAQ answer "Ancient Greek men thought the ideal male body possessed a small penis. Do we have any idea what Greek women thought?" by /u/PapiriusCursor and /u/0x52-0x48 is not small but is perfectly formed.
