Is there an abundance of evidence for the the existence of a single person named Jesus of Nazareth?

Jesus of Nazareth, the same person described in the Bible. I am not asking if there is historical evidence that he performed miracles, just about his existence. I am curious about this because in my history class they describe Jesus as if he was 100% a real person yet I'm not aware of any evidence of such exluding the Bible.

This question comes up here a lot. Not discouraging further answers, but this section of the FAQ will probably be of interest to you.

The short version is that there is evidence for Jesus outside the Bible; the Bible itself (like other religious texts) is a source, when used with appropriate professional caution; and that historians generally believe that Jesus was a real person.

If you want to know about miracles and such, check with the theology department, across the quadrangle.
