Hi I’d like to get an answer of what would happen if in a monarchy with male preferred primogeniture what would happen if a king had one wife who had a daughter then died and then remarried and had a son with the 2nd wife. Would the elder daughter inherit as she is older and the son isn’t if the same wife or would the son inherit as he is still a son and the wife order doesn’t matter. Thanks in advance.
With Male-Preference Primogeniture the eldest son is always first in line to the throne, regardless of whether or not they were the first born.
For a historical example of this, see Henry VIII and his children. Mary I was born first to Catherine of Aragon, Elizabeth I was born second to Anne Boleyn and Edward VI was born third to Jane Seymour. Although both of his sisters were born before him, and to different mothers, Edward inherited the throne before them. After his death the throne went to Mary and then to Elizabeth.
