So I love everything Greek and Roman and have decided that I might as well start researching Renaissance Italy since it sounds very interesting. However, the only exposure I have had to Renaissance Italy is what I have had is from tv shows like The Borgia and The Medici as well as history classes. I am looking for books, podcasts, movies or tv shows on Renaissance Italy that could help me learn more the time period.
Is there anything in particular you'd like to know about the time period? That might help narrow your search down.
My area is the art of Renaissance Italy, so I'll try to focus on things you might find useful on that topic.
A decent and accessible (and engaging) account of the most famous architectural commission of early Renaissance Italy is Ross King's Brunelleschi's Dome. It's not the most scholarly book but it's not bad, especially for popular history. His other Renaissance book Michelangelo and the Pope's Ceiling is also worth a look, for an account of Michelangelo's work in the Sistine Chapel.
If you're willing to look into something with more scholarly weight, Rona Goffen's Renaissance Rivals is an excellent choice (and surprisingly readable, for a scholarly book). It looks primarily at the ways artistic competition was part of the relationship between Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, and Titian. William Wallace's biography Michelangelo: The Artist, the Man and his Times is also worth a look and is geared toward a broader audience. If you're specifically interested in sculpture then the essays in Sarah Blake McHam (ed) Looking at Italian Renaissance Sculpture are great.
For a general overview and introduction to the different ways that Renaissance viewers might have perceived the art of their period, I highly recommend Michael Baxandall's Painting and Experience in Fifteenth-Century Italy. It's a classic in art history, and I think it's one of the best methodological texts ever written—AND it's accessible to specialists and non-specialists alike.
For quick intros to the art and culture of the Italian Renaissance, the following websites offer useful information:

I've used both with my students (and have contributed to the latter former).
Unfortunately I don't know of decent movies, TV shows, or podcasts on the Renaissance. PBS had a Medici special years ago, but I can't vouch for it (nor do I know how easy it is to find). However a colleague of mine loved it. If you speak Italian there is a good podcast (no longer active but still available online) called "Finestre sull'arte" that often discussed artists of the Italian Renaissance.
EDIT: formatting and added a book
