This is the fireplace.. So far I assumed top middle left guy is the chief, and the left one is the priest. Maybe the rest are gods since Shibalba is below, but maybe Im totally wrong and obviously vague.
To help clarify your question if no one answers because of the title: The iconography and the glyphs are Mayan, not Aztec. I can't read the entire piece on the left off of the top of my head but the Initial Series glyph is in there, along with a date (there is a date on the right hand side too).
