If the Americas were populated through Alaska, why all the ancient cities and civilizations were in the South?

by enlightendark

I read that is accepted by all historians that men entered America from Asia through Alaska. However, all the ancient stuff is found from Mexico to its South. Why this happened? I know that the weather of Canada and the US is harsher, but not worse than the weather of China or Europe. If China and Europe developed complex civilizations, why wasn't the same in North America (except of Mexico)? What today are the US and Canada seem perfect to create big, Chinese/European-like civilizations. Why didn't it happen?

A. The climate in canada/alaska definitely is worse than you think, like if you look at a map of canada, 87.4% of canada's population live 100 miles from the border and all the towns/cities in the interior are sparsely populated by comparison

B. Its a hard question to answer but I think this comment does the best job of giving a general answer
