I think the third letter is a 'p' and it's 'Hyperborei' or Hyperboria, a mythical country 'beyond the North Wind' (Boreas was the god of the North Wind) mentioned in Herodotus's Histories. Greeks and Romans generally seem to have thought it must be a real place, but weren't sure exactly where it was, with it's location generally drifting further to the North as their knowledge of real geography increased.
