Why isn't Napoleon seen as a 'bad guy' like Hitler?

by Archon7

Granted that way more people died in WW2 and the amount of genocide conducted by Nazi Germany was much worse but millions of people both military & civilian died in the Napoleonic wars and yet it doesn't seem like he is viewed as a bad guy today, why?

More can be written, but you might like to start from this answer from the FAQ section "The Study of History", "Was Napoleon regarded as Hitler before Hitler?" by /u/kieslowskifan .

This is not to discourage discussion. (I may have missed some previous replies, at a minimum.) More questions, data, and debate are welcome.
