Does anyone have recommendations for books about history of the period ca. 1780-1830 in Europe? Of particular interest are England, France, Germany, Italy, but beyond is okay. I'm having trouble finding books focusing on this era. I'm particularly interested in political, cultural, and social history (as opposed to something like economic history). Preferably not micro-histories in culture (focusing on specific cultural trends or events).
Focusing on the origins and developments in Romanticism would also be appreciated, but in a historical rather than philosophical or purely literary context is preferred.
I'm already aware of these books:
Age of Revolution by Eric Hobsbawm
The Romantic Revolution by Tim Blanning
The Age of Napoleon by Will Durant
Europe 1780-1830 by Franklin L. Ford
You might find some interesting works in the AskHistorians book list for Europe at https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/wiki/books/europe. There's the main book list up a level, at https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/wiki/books: some of the pages are separated by location (as with Europe, supra) but some are by topic -- though I don't see an applicable topic there.
This is not to discourage more book suggestions, of course.
