Hello historians! I am attempting to identify a sword that I have purchased. I believe it is German. Please tell me anything else that you may know. I have the makers mark displayed as well. Thank you in advance.
It appears to be a Carl Eickhorn "In Treue Fest" Sword. Here is a listing for one:

A vingage German sword by Carl Eickhorn circa 1906-1921. While never officially issued, many German officers carried swords such as this in WWII. The long, thin blade is approximately 33’’ long. The blade is engraved “In Treue Fest”, German for “In Faith”. Near the hilt, the blade is engraved with the Carl Eickhorn logo used circa 1906-1921, two squirrels back to back above “C.E.” The curved hilt has a worn, bronze-toned finish. The metal sheath is painted black with a metal loop attached near the hilt.
I found this listing by googling the following string:
“sword c.e. two squirrels”
