How helpful are history classes at community colleges?

by emperorAlexanderp

I love history and saw a CC near me offers a semester US history class up to 1867! I think it could be fun, do you think I could actually learn stuff?

Am I better off reading recommended books?

How much you'll learn in that class largely depends on how hard you work when it comes to researching sources and writing your papers for that class. The course will provide you with incentives to work at a regular pace and to learn topics but you can do that by yourself too.

If you think you can manage on your own then you might be better off reading a variety of recommended texts from experts here.
