What was the role of Great Britain's other North American colonies in the American Revolutionary War?

by PopsicleIncorporated

Pretty much the title. Were the Canadian colonies outright fighting against the rebelling American ones? If a Canadian colony had also rebelled (let's say Nova Scotia), would it have joined the US and be remembered amongst the original 14 colonies?

Were all of Britain's North American possessions seen as united before the war, only for 13 to break away or were the 13 rebelling colonies always seen as their own region?

More can be written, but some previous discussions might be of interest.

mormengil here wrote,

At the time of the Revolution, there were 21 British colonies in North America. The 13 that became the original United States, plus Canada (Quebec), Nova Scotia (Nova Scotia and New Brunswick), Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland (Newfoundland and Labrador), East Florida, West Florida, Bermuda, and the Bahamas. (Maybe also Turks and Caicos).

For then Canada, what a reply in this discussion glossed as "Quebec / Ontario / parts of New Brunswick", there's a nice discussion in "Why was Canada not involved in the American Revolution?", with replies by /u/CosmoDanger, /u/ScallopOolong (about French revanche), and /u/cuffx.

For then Nova Scotia (what a reply in this discussion glossed as today's Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Cape Breton), and Prince Edward Island, there's a nice discussion in "Why did Nova Scotia remain neutral during the American Revolution?", with replies by QuickSpore and MauricioBabilonia. More factors are in "Why didn't Quebec join the 13 Colonies' revolution against England?" by RoughestNeckAround.

For Newfoundland, there's a bit in 'Pre-1776, to what degree were the "Canadian" colonies considered distinct from the "American" colonies?' by polnikes and ScallopOolong.

I didn't go looking for the Caribbean colonies, but ran across a bit by ScallopOolong and dakkian in that discussion.

For East Florida and West Florida, there's a bit in "Why Didn't Florida Join the Revolution?" by leprachaundude83, and "Were Loyalists ever suppressed after the American Revolution?" by Shartastic.

This is not to discourage discussion. More questions, data and debate are welcome.
